GVH Distribution is one of the fastest-growing packaging and supplies distributors in the country. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Fife, WA branch. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to expand sales opportunities, build relationships with key accounts, and drive revenue growth for the branch. The Business Development Manager will be critical in driving sales growth and ensuring the branch achieves its revenue and profitability targets. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with clients, and executing business development strategies. The Business Development Manager will also oversee daily operations of the GVH Fife team.
We offer a competitive annual base salary of $90,000 with the potential to earn up to an additional $50,000 in sales performance bonuses.
- Develop and implement business development strategies to increase branch sales, revenue, and market share.
- Identify new sales opportunities and aggressively pursue these opportunities through both new customer acquisition and existing customer growth.
- Manage key accounts, building relationships and ensuring high customer satisfaction to foster long-term business partnerships.
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure they are effectively targeting potential clients and achieving branch sales goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and finance, to ensure efficient execution of sales plans and strategies.
- Analyze market trends and customer needs to adjust sales tactics and strategies accordingly.
- Ensure all sales activities are aligned with the overall objectives of the company, including financial and operational targets.
- Participate in regular meetings with the Warehouse Manager to understand warehouse operations and how they impact business development efforts.
- Provide strategic direction and operational leadership to the GVH Fife team.
- Monitor financial performance, including sales budgets, accounts receivable, and overall branch profitability, to ensure financial goals are met.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the sales team, training them to identify and pursue new business opportunities effectively.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Proven experience in Customer Service, Sales, or Business Development is strongly preferred.
- College Degree from a 4 Year University, preferably with a specialization in Business or Communications preferred.
- This job requires the worker to sit, stand, walk, push/pull, stoop/squat, kneel/bend, reach/grasp, drive and lift up to 50 lbs. This job requires the employee to be sedentary at their work station during the majority of their work shift. However, on occasion the employee will need to assist with product pulling and delivery.
- Skill and knowledge to identify and prioritize sales opportunities, and aggressively pursue such opportunities
- Superior knowledge of the food service packaging and general supplies business for target markets.
- Financial knowledge to understand corporate profitability and the ability to maximize company sales through utilization of the GVH program offerings
- Must be able to learn and use software and equipment, perform all job functions safely, and work scheduled times and possible overtime.
